Thurrock Legal Services operate under a shared service umbrella with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. We are seeking a suitable qualified solicitor/barrister or Legal Executive with experience in planning, highways and rights of way matters on a permanent basis. Experience of handing a varied case load together with advisory and drafting skills are essential. The right candidate will have a thorough knowledge of planning law; the role will include providing advice to senior Officers and Members, dealing with s106 obligations, s38 and s278 agreements, enforcement of planning control and public rights of way matters. Public sector experience is desirable but not essential.
Located in the heart of the Thames Gateway we have one of the most exciting planning agendas in the country; centred on 6 major growth hubs including London Gateway Port and Logistics Park (the largest of its kind in Europe) and Purfleet Centre which will see the provision of up to 2,500 new homes, the creation of a new town centre and the provision of dynamic employment opportunities. With the scale of the local agenda there is an interesting mix of work for the specialist lawyer to get actively involved with. If you have the skills to help us develop our potential we will reward you with the chance to fulfil yours.
