We have an exciting opportunity for a town planner looking to develop or expand their development management experience and work in a specialist area where there will be a range of planning applications and proposals to deal with.
Based in the historic city of Cambridge, and working across the diverse county of Cambridgeshire, you will join a friendly, busy and growing team which is expanding with new posts to rise to the challenge of delivering an ambitious and wide ranging growth agenda. This includes the Greater Cambridge Partnership, which is a multi-million pound programme to deliver vital infrastructure and thousands of new homes and jobs; ongoing improvements of the A14; and planned development for existing and new settlements.
You will be an enthusiastic, proactive town planner, with a planning or related degree, and with experience already in development management. Ideally you should have a strong work ethic, and either already be MRTPI accredited or in your final stages of working towards achieving the MRTPI standard.
You will be responsible for a range of planning applications so will have good organisational, time management skills, and an eye for detail.
In a rapidly growing area with major new development planned including new settlements, you will deal with planning applications made by the County Council for its own development. This will include proposals for new infrastructure such as new schools. You will also be dealing with planning applications for mineral and waste management development (training will be given).
