Planning Officer

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the day to day work of the Development Control team through the processing of a variety of planning applications and carrying out other duties associated with the planning application process. Such duties including dealing with pre application enquiries including participation in the duty officer rota, clearance of planning conditions, determination of planning applications and preparation of necessary Officer reports and appeal work. The postholder would also be expected to provide support to the Group Manager and Principal Planning Officer on the delivery of major projects including the North East Sector Neighbourhood and employment proposals in Manor Royal.

We are seeking a flexible, positive,individualcommittedwith a degree in town planning or related social science who is capable of working on their own initiative and meeting deadlines.

A thorough understanding of town planning legislation together with a successful, demonstrable track record of working in a local planning authority, or similar environment, with minimal supervision is essential. and customer-focused team player
