These are exciting times for Planning in the Tunbridge Wells Borough. Operating on an innovative, highly collaborative and flexible approach between Development Management ([DM] - which is responsible for the determination of planning and other applications) and Planning Policy (responsible for forming the future Plans for the Borough), you will have the opportunity to work across both DM and Planning Policy.

We are currently seeking a Planning Officer to join Planning Services. You will have the opportunity to work across both elements, ensuring policy formation draws heavily on practical DM experience and DM decisions are based on expert policy and evidence knowledge, helping balance the delivery of new development, whilst protecting the high quality and varied town and country landscapes of the Borough.

It is anticipated that work at the start would predominantly involve dealing with a variety of DM applications, with opportunities to work across the two disciplines in the future.

The post is career graded, with excellent opportunities for progression in the future as your skills, experience and knowledge increases.
