£25,219 - £28,248
Permanent, full time position.
Do you want to be part of one of the best performing planning authorities in the country?
Development Management has a high profile at South Bucks. Rightly so, it is an attractive area with many competing demands. We are one of the best performing local authorities in the country, having dealt with over 90% of all applications within the 8/13 week period in 2015/16. Our record in defending our decisions at appeal is also an excellent one. Furthermore, we believe that having taken decisions, we must enforce them.
We are looking to recruit a planning officer in one of two area teams who is committed to providing an excellent development management service and who is able to make a positive contribution to our development management team. You will need to be able to weigh up the competing demands of different interests – securing sustainable development which meets recognised needs, but which also protects and enhances the environment of the District, its heritage and the Green Belt. You will take on a personal caseload of planning applications and will deal with any appeals arising from this caseload. You will also deal with correspondence generated through our pre-application procedure. You will be IT literate, highly organised and an effective team worker.
South Bucks is a rural district with a number of small and medium sized towns located immediately to the west of Greater London. It is dissected by the M4, M25 and M40 motorways which give excellent access to other parts of the country, and is home to the internationally acclaimed Burnham Beeches and to Pinewood Studios. We are currently located in purpose-built offices in Denham, a semi-rural location with excellent road links and free parking
