Planning & Property Officer - 2 year fixed term

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Admissions & Property Team to make an immediate contribution in supporting the Every Child Matters agenda. You will make a contribution to implementing the major capital programmes that will benefit the children, young people and vulnerable adults of our Borough.
As an experienced and capable administrator you will be involved in planning and implementing key policies which include, accommodation planning, planning for school places, supporting the creation of the departmental capital programme including prioritisation of identified need through the Asset Management Plan, and managing the capital rolling programmes. You will also be liaising with the Borough Planners to ensure that the Department’s interests are met through the statutory S106 and planning process.
You will ensure that there are adequate plans and arrangements in place for emergency planning & business continuity, offsite & hazardous activities and environmental management, and you will also provide support, advice and guidance to Social Care & Learning department establishments on planning & property issues.
You will be working with a wide range of stakeholders in all Council departments and with officers in Social Care & Learning, Service Heads, Heads of Establishments, Headteachers and Site Controllers.
