The Planning Policy team offers a year’s placement giving practical experience in the planning system. You would be involved in a wide variety of work including:

Work on the Emerging Core Strategy and Site Allocations Development Plan Documents
Public consultation events and analysis
Developing the baseline evidence for the borough, developing targets and indicators for the Local Development Framework
Assisting with monitoring of existing district plan polices, including site surveys and analysis of data
Review of the Green Belt

Some experience of GIS would be useful.
