CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S DEPARTMENT

BE PART OF OUR “2020 VISION”

POLICY ANALYST

Here in our Corporate Strategy & Improvement Division we are at the heart of helping Bromley’s Chief Executive achieve the Council’s significant change agenda. We are a dynamic and innovative division looking for a highly motivated person to work on a range of stimulating and leading edge projects. This will involve you working with staff from other departments and agencies on initiatives such as community leadership, partnerships, performance management and local area agreements, to name but a few. You will play an important role in helping to drive forward the Council’s “Building a Better Bromley” priorities.

A good understanding of the local government change agenda, as well as experience of strategic planning, performance management and partnership work would be important. But more important is a proven ability to work both on your own and as a good team player. You should have a strategic approach, innovative and challenging ideas, be flexible to adapt to the range of non-routine projects we handle, and should enjoy the responsibility of leading on projects assigned to you.

A key responsibility of the Policy Analyst will initially include the management and interpretation of performance and other data. So you will need to be highly numerate and feel confident working with complex information.

For an informal discussion about either of the jobs, contact John Hazeldine (Head of Strategy) 020 8313 4482, or Joanna Smith 020 461 7492.

Job reference: CEX402

Closing date: Midday Monday 3rd September 2008

Interviews: Week beginning 15th September 2008
