Policy and Communications Officer No Recourse to Public Funds Network.

PO2/3 £33,306 – £37,851 pa

Reference:RCR/2336C/JM

Are you an experienced and ambitious communications professional, knowledgeable and passionate about refugees and migrants, and particularly those with no recourse to public funds? Are you looking for your next step, ready to work for a unique and innovative organisation dedicated to improving practice and influencing positive change in the field of migration and asylum support?

The NRPF Network is a national network of local authorities focusing on the statutory response to people with care needs who have no recourse to public funds. The Network is based within and supported by Islington Council. It aims to share information and good practice amongst local authorities, work with government departments to raise practical and policy issues and to develop a strategic response to NRPF. Membership includes representatives from local authorities, voluntary sector organisations, central government departments, police departments and NHS trusts.

The Policy and Communications Officer will run and develop the network, including developing and implementing a communications strategy, supporting and coordinating regional networks, developing policy and practice guidance, speaking at conferences, delivering training, and anything else that will raise the profile of the network, improve the quality of its work, and improve outcomes for those with no recourse to public funds.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in communication and policy work who can apply their skills and innovation to build upon the Network’s existing success.

For an informal discussion about the network or the role, please contact Henry St Clair Miller, NRPF Team Leader, Islington Council, on 020 7527 7118.
