To continue the service’s transformation, we are now recruiting to the new structure and are seeking forward-thinking and innovative professionals who’ll place Property and Asset Management at the heart of the council’s broader organisational change agenda.
The Asset Management Team are responsible for actively managing all aspects of council properties and acting as corporate landlord to the council’s tenants. The team seeks to maximise the efficient use of council assets through pro-active delivery of all landlord and tenant functions, facilities management and capital programmes.
As a Principal Commercial Surveyor you will actively seek to develop and manage opportunities for development and disposal within the Council’s property portfolio. Liaising with developers, architects and advisers to develop schemes and proposals and financial viabilities to realise best value and maximise social benefits. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of strategic property projects comprising the appraisal and delivery of direct residential and mixed-use developments, joint ventures and refurbishment opportunities, as well as the ability to negotiate terms for the structure and restructure of development agreements.
As qualified surveyor you will have extensive experience in dealing with a range of complex and contentious matters requiring a consistently high degree of support, persuasion and advocacy combined with an awareness of major policy objectives.
You will also possess an ability to be decisive and work well under pressure and operate and empathise with stakeholders, to influence and gain commitment to objectives.
Confidence to work autonomously to meet the objectives of the organisation whilst maintaining a consultative ethic is desirable.
