We are at the cutting edge of Environmental Health using education, advisory and enforcement tools to obtaining health improvements for the Community and Businesses in the Borough. This has resulted in strong partnerships with external agencies that have enabled us to be innovative in our approach to Environmental Health.

We are able to offer a range of career opportunities for those that have almost obtained their EHRB registration through to individuals that would like to take on the challenge of managing staff and developing our Service Strategy.

The Service operates with two distinct areas comprising of health and safety specialists and food safety specialists. We would like to keep these specialisms but blur the edges enabling staff to work across areas when the need arises.

We are able to offer a 35 hour week with flexi-time (a maximum of two ‘flexi’ days can be taken in a four week period), structured training opportunities (CPD), excellent salaries an additional car user allowance, advisory and enforcement work, a minimum of 6 weeks paid leave a year, assistance to obtain the APD and managerial opportunities.

Principal Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety

You will have substantial experience working in the Environmental Health Commercial discipline. The post involves supervising staff and also managing specific projects that the Team is carrying out. You will guide the Unit in achieving its maximum performance and also carry a case load of complex cases and be involved complex prosecutions.
