Few areas can match South Cambridgeshire when it comes to growth. 23,500 new homes are planned by 2021 including several major urban expansions to Cambridge, and the new town of Northstowe, where an outline application is under consideration. Meanwhile, development of the village of Cambourne is well under way.

The posts are located at the Council’s modern offices at Cambourne, within the Council’s New Communities Service, which brings together major developments planning, community, cultural and growth teams, with the aim of creating sustainable communities where people really want to live.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team involved in planning new communities around Cambridge. Working closely with key stakeholders and partners, you will deal with all aspects of work on these major sites, including project work, planning applications, negotiations on legal agreements and establishing appropriate guidance, including the master plan and design codes to ensure that quality places and sustainable communities result.

You will bring a proven record of partnership working and dealing successfully with complex planning applications and projects, ideally within the public sector. You will be committed, innovative and organised with the ability to manage project work and a small project group within the major developments team.
