Location:HMP, Hedon Road, Hull

You will be responsible for developing, managing and promoting the full range of professional library and information services at the prison and for supervising non-professional staff as appropriate.
You must have previous experience of delivering a service to diverse client groups of all ages and abilities, of training, leading and motivating staff, partnership working, using ICT applications for a wide variety of purposes and working with information resources.
You will also have knowledge of reader development with client groups of all ages and abilities, national trends, issues and initiatives and relevant local developments, stock management and published materials and resources.
A recognised qualification to degree level (or equivalent) in librarianship, information technology or an appropriate subject is also essential.
You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to cover all working hours which may include evenings and weekends.
Please note this is a politically restricted post in accordance with the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
