We are looking for someone to join the Partnership Commissioning Team. This is a jointly-funded team working for Medway Council and NHS Medway Clinical Commissioning Group.
We are looking for a commissioner who has experience in either children’s or adults’ social care or health services. The post holder will be educated to degree level, hold a qualification in relevant subject matter or have extensive experience in strategic commissioning or procurement across social care and health, and be able to work in accordance with programme and project management principles.
The post holder will lead the transformation and improvement in the Accommodation and Registered services portfolio and will have responsibility for the commissioning of accommodation and registered services, including residential and nursing care, homecare, extracare and supported living services, with a focus on adults.
This post will involve overseeing the planning, development and implementation of relevant programmes of work and ensuring they are in line to achieve the required outcomes, performance targets, and measureable savings. This will require regular reporting to governing bodies providing progress reports and business cases.
With responsibility for a senior commissioning officer and a small team that place packages of care and support, the post holder will be required to empower and motivate staff to be able to respond effectively to the changing demands of the service through day to day direction, ensuring their ongoing and continuous development and achievement of strategic and operational objectives.
We are looking for someone with good organisational and time management skills, excellent negotiation, consultation and influencing skills – the post holder will need to engage with patients/ service users, carers, providers and other professionals in the development of plans and service specifications and in monitoring contracts to ensure maximum outcomes.
