Project Officer – Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI)

Grade G (£27052 – £29236) 37hrs per week

Gloucester City Council is seeking to appoint a dedicated THI project officer to promote and develop the Stage 2 bid for the Southgate Street Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI). The post will be full- time for an initial 6 month period with subsequent funding for the post expected for the duration of the five year project.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has announced that £1.2m has been earmarked for Southgate Street THI. The Environmental Planning Service needs a dedicated officer to develop and deliver the THI project. Previous experience of working on conservation led regeneration is essential as well as an understanding of project management, consultation and negotiation.

A good working knowledge of heritage lottery funded schemes, historic buildings and conservation areas together with a degree in architecture, planning or archaeology and a post graduate qualification in historic building conservation would be desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that the historic environment plays a major role in the regeneration of the City.
