As part of the Estates team, you’ll work on a portfolio of traveller sites and have the opportunity to develop your own protocols.
You’ll deal with a wide range of estate management issues, from carrying out site inspections and collecting rent, to arranging for repairs and maintenance. You’ll help set and manage budgets, and deal with grant applications. You’ll also liaise with services within the Council and partner organisations to ensure that co-ordinated services are provided to travellers.
With a background in property management, you’ll have experience of dealing with Gypsy and Traveller matters; have basic knowledge of landlord and tenant matters and of organising repairs and maintenance contracts. You’ll work well as part of a busy team, as well as on your own initiative. The ability to communicate well with a wide range of people, particularly those from Gypsy and Traveller communities, is essential, and you should have good written English. You’ll also be able to use spreadsheets and email, and have a full driving licence.
