Purchase Ledger Team Leader

The Finance Department is looking to recruit an experienced Purchase Ledger Team Leader with suitable skills to complement the existing team. You have to adhere to strict time-table and deadlines at all times.

The purpose of this role is to provide a continuous professional service to all Group members and work towards objectives of the Purchase Ledger team:

• Manage the purchase ledger function for The Network Housing Group and ensure that the service meets the needs of the Group members;
• Responsible for ensuring service delivery and best practice end-to-end invoice payment process;
• Actively contribute towards implementation of new systems and procedures;
• Manage the accounts assistants, ensure that all deadlines are achieved, the system functions effectively and the best practice is in place;

Job related knowledge, skills and experience at entry:

• AAT qualified accountant or equivalent with knowledge of legislative background and best practice in relation to purchase ledger activity;
• A thorough understanding of double entry accounting, controls, procedures and an experience in dealing with auditors and other professional bodies;
• Experience in the management of staff;
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with internal and external contacts and good interpersonal skills and be comfortable supporting colleagues;
• Strong systems orientation, comfortable in dealing with systems changes and an experience of working in a volume intensive environment.
