Hackney is London's most diverse and dynamic borough. Stretching from the edge of the City, to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in the tech, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green space than any other inner London borough, some of the capital's best schools, and first class transport connections, which combined with excellent local public services and a thriving arts, cultural and retail sector, are fast making it one of London's most popular areas to live, work and visit. The challenge for Hackney is to make sure that the borough's economic growth provides benefits for everyone who lives here, and to create opportunities that will transform the lives of local people.
As a Qualified Children’s Practitioner you will be working at the forefront of best practice within one of our social work units.
This role is ideal for those with a recognised professional social work qualification, for example newly qualified social workers who are keen to work in a statutory setting with vulnerable children and families. Our Qualified Children’s Practitioners are strongly encouraged to complete their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). On successful completion of your ASYE, you will have the opportunity to transition to the role of permanent Social Worker and continue to progress your career in Hackney.
Candidates should have a strong knowledge of childcare legislation, a proven ability to implement effective interventions with children and families, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to manage their own workload.
Dynamic, innovative and committed, you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families. You will be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about ensuring the very best outcomes for children in Hackney.
Candidates must hold a social work qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). An enhanced DBS check is required.
