Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Consultant – Primary

Part time: 0.8

This post is offered on Soulbury scale 10 to 14 pro rata. Salary £45,523 to £50,143 p.a. inclusive of London Allowance Pro Rata – Applications will also be considered on a secondment basis.

Required from September 2012 or before if possible.

We are seeking to appoint a consultant to join our highly regarded team who will:

• Provide advice, support and guidance to mainstream schools in promoting inclusive practice, developing high quality provision and raising attainment for pupils with SEND

• Support SENCOs in developing their leadership and management role

• Contribute to the wider work of the SEND team and Services to Schools.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has substantial leadership experience as a SENCO

• Has teaching expertise in the field of special educational needs and disability

• Understands the barriers to learning that children and young people with SEND may face and how these barriers may be overcome

• Is skilled in working in partnership with school staff and professionals from a range of agencies
