The Role

Occupational Therapist (x5)

This is an exciting opportunity for Occupational Therapists to develop and shape the integrated OT service provision within Brent’s Adult Social Care Customer Journey. Following an extensive transformation of Brent Adult Social Care services, OTs are now based within the Reablement Team, Hospital Discharge Team and Review Team.

All of the posts will give you an opportunity to use a wide range of skills to promote and facilitate maximising independence and improved outcomes for customers, including moving and handling, major adaptations, complex equipment provision, goal planning and evidence based case management. As key qualified operational staff you will also be expected to provide support to colleagues across adult social care.

The Reablement team posts and the Hospital Discharge Team post are also closely involved with reablement service provision and provide professional advice, guidance and support to colleagues and service providers as well as undertaking urgent moving and handling assessments and assessments for major adaptations and complex equipment provision.

There are close working relationships with Brent’s Housing Resource Centre and Private Housing Services to provide a One Council approach to addressing housing needs and that the Disabled Facilities Grant programme meets expected standards of delivery, performance and quality.

The role of the OT based in the Review Team is focused primarily on manual handling reviews and assessments for major adaptations or equipment.

You will receive regular professional support and supervision and annual appraisal. Brent also provides a wide range of social care orientated training for all staff including OTs
