The Role

Are you passionate about children being able to stay within their family network and are committed to ensuring a high standard of care then the Kinship Fostering Team may be the team for you.

As a Kinship Fostering Social Worker you will contribute towards the objectives of the Family Placements Kinship Team. You will undertake emergency, short term and permanent foster carers, Special Guardian and Private Fostering assessments. In this role you will also have supervisory responsibilities with our carers and be a part of the duty team. We are looking for social workers who is able to produce quality assessments as well as providing ongoing monitoring or supervision of carers.

One of the successful candidates will also take the lead on Private Fostering which includes the assessments, monitoring and raising awareness of Private Fostering as well as the above.

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Qualification

• This post requires General Social Care Council or Health and Care Professional Care registration.

Skills

• The ability to prepare complex reports and undertake complex assessments

• The ability to collaborate with social work colleagues and other professionals.

Knowledge and Experience

• Knowledge and experience of appropriate legislation and understanding of child protection procedures and fostering regulations and procedures.

• Knowledge and experience of working with children and families.

The successful candidate is required to work outside of office hours occasionally.
