Applewood is a purpose built six bed short break children’s home situated in Tadworth, Surrey. As Registered Manager of the service the successful candidate will lead a team delivering a range of short breaks for children and young people with severe learning difficulties and disabilities. The Applewood service opened in 2010 and offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to lead this service towards a sustainable future. The Registered Manager will have a key role in the planning and development process to implement new and flexible service provision.
The successful candidate will be a registered social worker or have an equivalent qualification and have recent experience of management in a children’s home. They will have a good working knowledge of the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities and will meet the requirements to become Registered Manager of the service. The position involves weekend and evening working in order to provide a 24 hour service. In return the successful applicant will join an established and experienced staff team and will receive opportunities for professional development and training.
An enhanced DBS list check will be required for this role.
Provisional date for Interviews is 15 February 2013.
Applewood Residential Home accommodate children up to 18 years of age. Due to legal requirements set out by the DFE national minimum standards the successful applicant is required to be at least 4 years older than our oldest accommodated child.
