Repairs & Maintenance Manager

Following a restructure, a high profile post has arisen within the Property Services (Housing) team to be responsible for leading the development and delivery of a multi-million pounds responsive repairs and voids service in line with the Business Plan objectives. You will lead on the commercial and contractual aspects of the service whilst developing and maintaining strong partnering relationships with our long-term partnering contractor.
Strong leadership and skill in leading and managing a dedicated team is required, as you will set targets for high standards of performance in response repairs and void services. This senior level role will be required to represent the Council with external contractors, agencies and Members as well as drive improvement and deliver high standards of service delivery. We are a customer focused organisation and you must also maintain a commitment to their needs at all times.
You will have experience of working at a senior level in property maintenance – ideally in the housing sector - and have skills in managing staff and working on long-term partnering agreements. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a strategic approach to work and the skills to introduce new ideas and working practices.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
