Role Description:
Coveham is committed to supporting residents in a person centred way that helps them retain their independence, and we take an active role in the community.

Coveham is a registered residential care home providing a 24-hour personalised support service for ten Adults with Learning Disabilities.

We are looking for someone who can help us continue to provide a safe environment to live in and deliver a high standard of care. We are looking for a enthusiastic person to join our friendly and dedicated staff team of residential support workers here at Coveham.

Your role will be to assist in the provision of a high quality 24 hour residential service for people with learning disabilities, enabling people to live with a maximum of choice and independence. You\‘ll be part of a team who, as well as teaching basic life skills and helping with daily tasks such as bathing, eating, and Socialising you\’ll also Help Keyworkers make sure their care plans are implemented.

You will need to be sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities and support the individuals residing at Coveham in participating in a wide range of community-based activities, designed to meet their individual wishes and needs.

You are required to have the ability to record and write reports and have good organisational skills.

IT skills would be useful but training will be given and you will need to have a commitment to equal opportunities, as well as a basic knowledge of National Minimum Standards (Care Standards Act 2000) would be useful but training will be given to work within the standards required.

We require a flexible attitude to help us cover shift when required, which will may include working some unsocial hours, weekends, some Bank Holidays.

All new staff complete a induction programme when joining our team, with opportunities for further training and personal development. You will also receive regular staff supervision and annual appraisals.
You will need to be willing to take Social Care NVQ level 2.

Our shift patterns cover the twenty-four hour day and are designed to meet the personal needs of the service users living in this registered residential care home.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and Barred Adults List check will be required for this role.
