At Milton Keynes, we’re supporting the growth of our vibrant city while continuing to deliver excellent services. It’s an exciting place to be and we’re keen to get the balance right – including the work-life balance. So if you’re looking for family friendly benefits and the chance to make a difference, make a move to MKC.

About our homes

Furze House is a residential children’s home set on a leafy street on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, providing a range of services for children with a severe learning disability in three separate units, each with its own garden and specialist facilities. This is a busy environment with a lot going on, but always at the heart of everything we do are the children. Westminster House is located on a quiet road in a popular residential area and provides similar services. Both homes have been recognised as ‘Good’ grading from Ofsted.’

The role and you

We are looking for a number of experienced, confident and positive Residential Workers to take on a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings and Bank Holiday working. This is a close knit team where we all support each other in delivering the best services, activities and care that we can for our children. Excellent communication skills, the capacity to remain calm and the ability to undertake manual handling are all paramount to this post. A CRB check is also required.

For the annualised hours post, you will be contracted to work a minimum of 625 hours per year made up of a minimum of 5 hours per week, plus additional hours that will be used flexibly to meet fluctuating staffing needs, usually around weekends and school holidays. Flexibility is therefore key.

Closing date: Sunday 9 June 2013.

Interview date: w/c 17 June 2013.

This role is subject to safer recruitment practices.
