Few areas can match South Cambridgeshire when it comes to growth. 23,500 new homes are planned by 2021 including several major urban expansions to Cambridge, and the new town of Northstowe, where an outline application is under consideration. Meanwhile, development of the village of Cambourne is well under way.
The posts are located at the Council’s modern offices at Cambourne, within the Council’s New Communities Service, which brings together major developments planning, community, cultural and growth teams, with the aim of creating sustainable communities where people really want to live.
The Council is committed to maximising the opportunities for new and existing communities arising from its programme of development, and is seeking an individual to help achieve the very best for the district’s communities from S.106 agreements.
You will be experienced in the negotiation of planning obligations and will already be well versed in the legal and technical issues. You will bring to South Cambs a new, dedicated approach, based in the New Communities Section, you will work closely with planning officers, parish councils and other stakeholders to identify and deliver community benefits arising from new developments. An organised, innovative thinker, you will take responsibility for this area of work in the Council.
