Contract: Permanent, required from 1 September 2013

Salary: Leadership L7 to L11, £43,521 to £48,024

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Voyage Learning Campus as we move from being the Local Authority Education Other Than at School Service to becoming a maintained Pupil Referral Unit from April 2013.

The Learning Campus has 4 separate sites, Nailsea, Worle, Weston super Mare and Uphill and provides alternative education provision for up to 320 learners.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Assistant vice Principal to manage our Nailsea Key Stage 2 and 3 Pupil Referral Unit Provision.

The successful candidate should have experience of teaching at KS2 and 3 and should have a proven track record of middle management in either a school or alternative provision setting and will need to be able to teach a range of subject areas.

We are looking for a suitably experienced and inspiring Centre leader with:

• A flair for designing programmes which will engage fragile and in some cases extremely disaffected learners
• Experience of working with students with learning, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
• Excellent team working skills
• A positive approach towards challenge
• Proven experience of managing a team of dedicated professionals
• Empathy and understanding
