Social Care

The Fostering Service in Bradford is an expanding service with a 6 fostering teams providing a range of placements; these include short breaks, family and friends and short term and long term team placements; in addition there is a team leading in assessment and recruitment.

Due to an increase in the number of children becoming Looked After additional funding has been made available to increase the number and range of foster carers and to ensure that all carers can have an allocated Supervising Social Worker to support and manage them. As a result we have the following vacancies:

You will join a management team of 6 other Fostering Managers and will jointly plan and develop the service, taking a lead in maintaining the foster carers manual. You will work closely with the current manager of the Long Term team in providing long term fostering placements across the age range of children and also with the two adoption managers when an adoptive placement has not been achieved. The long term team also manage the specialist foster carers who provide single placements for children aged 10 +

You will need:

  • To hold a professional Social Work Qualification
  • To be registered with GSCC
  • To have three years post qualifying experience
  • To have knowledge of the fostering and adoption regulations and legislation
  • To have a full driving licence unless there are reasons linked to disability that means this is not possible
