Are you looking to develop your career within Surrey Children’s Service?
You will be a member of a social care team, working alongside social workers and other partners, agencies and the voluntary sector to support children and their families in the community. Surrey Children’s Service provides training to ensure competence and professional development and the opportunity to undertake further training.
Working to support social workers in the team, you will work intensively and in a planned way with the young person, family or carers and other agencies and services, supporting children and families to achieve their potential.
At the higher grade, Senior FSWs are expected to take more complex tasks on case, including, where appropriate, case hold.
Surrey Children’s Service believes that the welfare of children and their families is paramount. Team members are enthusiastic and supportive, committed to the provision of a quality service for children and their carers and we are looking for people with similar qualities to join these teams to continue the good work already being done.
No two days in any of the teams will be the same. You’ll need experience of working with children in a paid or voluntary area, or an interest in the welfare and care of children and young people. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are also vital.
An enhanced CRB disclosure and a Children’s and Adults barred list check will be required for this role, together with a full driving licence and use of a car.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Sue J Weston on 01372 832050.
This post will be moving to Redhill in mid 2012.
Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Closing Date: 4 March 2012
