Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council, have a fantastic coastline, numerous market towns and villages all within a sensitive cultural and environmental landscape but with significant regeneration and growth challenges. We are also leading the way when it comes to working in partnership. We already have a joint management team and have agreed to merge our services to ensure that we are delivering them in a high quality and cost efficient way. As part of this initiative, we have already taken steps to integrate our Development Management Service and are now delivering the service through a single team to meet our customer’s needs.

We are looking for a Senior Planning & Enforcement Officer to provide advice and guidance to other members of the team on planning and enforcement matters. You will have your own caseload, present cases to Committee and will also carry out Planning and/or Enforcement site visits, site surveys and inspections, within a geographic area which may include parts of Waveney District and/or Suffolk Coastal District. You will also deputise for the Development Management Team Leader.

You will possess good interpersonal and communication skills, be experienced in handling applications and appeals, and will hold full RTPI membership.

This role will provide a great opportunity to build a career in a forward looking partnership with key major projects within this beautiful area including Sizewell new nuclear build, BT Adastral Park, the Port of Felixstowe and the regeneration of Lowestoft and associated renewable energy opportunities.
