This is a fantastic opportunity for either experienced senior planners or planners looking for the next career step.
We are looking to recruit 2 qualified planners to work with a high-performing local authority within a diverse borough. These career graded positions offer the successful applicants to attain faster promotion to a senior level, subject to performance and career milestones.
There are exciting challenges on the horizon for Surrey Heath, with new housing developments proposed on reserved housing sites and land at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut, plus significant regeneration plans proposed for Camberley Town Centre. In addition to urban and town locations Surrey Heath encompasses countryside and rural settlements, conservation areas, Green Belt land and sites of nature conservation. You will therefore deal with a variety of applications, including more complex and major applications, and will be expected to represent the Council at committee and on appeal.
We will invest in your ongoing professional development, including training opportunities and mentoring through the APC process. The development pressures facing the Borough, together with the singular team ethos and structure, will provide you with the potential to process all types of proposals and enable advancement of your career at a quicker rate.
Camberley is located approximately 30 miles from central London close to the borders of Hampshire and Berkshire with excellent access to the M3, M25 and M4 motorways and Heathrow airport. London Waterloo can be reached in 40 minutes by train from nearby Farnborough. Camberley has strong links with the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, located on the outskirts of town.
