In this beautiful borough with its many Green Belt areas and historic market towns, Waverley’s Planning service deals with over 2,750 planning applications each year, ranging from small house extensions to major development proposals.

This role can either be cover at Senior or Planning Officer level.

For the Senior role, you will ideally be a member of the RTPI. You will definitely be eligible to apply for full membership of the RTPI or demonstrate competence in negotiating and determining complex planning applications.

For the Planning Officer role, you will have a degree in a related subject such as Geography, Planning or Environmental Sciences and an appreciation of environmental issues.

Both roles will help us meet our corporate priorities such as protecting and enhancing the environment, improving lives and providing value for money. For these varied and interesting roles, you will also need to have excellent customer care and inter-personal skills together with an ability to read plans and drawings.
