The post involves the full range of planning development control duties within the planning service. This includes examining and negotiating on planning applications, inspecting sites, making recommendations and preparing committee reports, all in relation to dealing with the more complicated planning applications. You will also deal with planning and enforcement appeals appropriate to the Senior position
You will be politically aware and able to deal with Councillors and the public in an appropriate manner.
As a minimum you will you need to be educated to degree level and have experience in development control and a sound understanding of applications and the consideration of planning policy and guidance to development proposals. Membership or eligibility for membership of the RTPI is desirable.
