Lambeth is one of the most diverse and dynamic local authorities in the country. The Chief Executive is looking for a someone with a special set of skills to help the organisation continue its journey of improvement. This is a key role supporting Lambeth’s transformation to become the first Cooperative Council and you will be involved in shaping key programmes and policy developments. Your policy research and development skills will enable you to bring the best of what works elsewhere to Lambeth and deliver real innovation. This is an exciting time for Lambeth and you will be working and promoting some of the most complex and interesting projects in local government.
We are looking for a credible and experienced individual who is entrepreneurial and enthusiastic about taking on new areas of work and relishes working at pace. You will see relationship management, getting up to speed quickly and delivering results as key strengths.
We are looking to appoint a candidate on a 12 month fixed term contract.
To give a flavour – projects which you will be working on range from supporting the implementation of the Cooperative Council to understanding and mitigating against the impact of welfare reform, promoting the council’s vision, supporting the local strategic partnership -Lambeth First and improving the organisation’s reputation. As this role reports directly to the Chief Executive, you will be comfortable working with senior leaders and with a range of often competing stakeholders.
