YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER WHO HAS COMPLETED THEIR ASYE TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE
(Previous experience at Senior Practitioner Level would be advantageous but is not essential to apply)
The ethos behind our Fostering service is simple - ‘good’ is not good enough for our young people and those who care for them. So we are on a journey to ‘outstanding’. That means listening to foster carers, children and young people about how we can achieve the best together. It means supporting, training, valuing and developing those who foster our children. And above all, it means making sure all we do is centred on helping children to be healthy, wealthy, friendly and safe.
You’ll play a leading role in improving the quality of professional social work practice across the full breadth of the case work cycle. Taking on complex caseloads, you’ll ensure children, young people and families benefit from an approach that is led by their needs, underpinned by best practice and guided by legislation. Here, you’ll enjoy the scope to develop a lead area of expertise. What’s more, you’ll actively share your skills and knowledge with others - from carrying out delegated management duties, through to providing supervisory support. You’ll also work closely with a range of partner agencies, to achieve the best possible outcomes for all those who rely on you. All in all, this is an excellent opportunity to hone your practice and develop as a leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN US
A qualified, HCPC registered social worker, you’ll bring to the role extensive experience of working with vulnerable children and their families. This will include close and effective working with statutory and voluntary agencies. You have the knowledge, skills and experience it takes to analyse, review and make a positive difference in increasingly complex and challenging situations. We’ll also expect you to demonstrate successful experience of taking on supervisory responsibility.
If you have 3 years or more post qualifying experience & are joining us from another authority; you will receive a recruitment incentive payment of £3,000 (subject to tax and national insurance deductions).
If you stay with our Fostering Service for two years and remain with us; on your third year, you will receive a retention payment of £2,400, paid quarterly in your pay package.
