Windsor and Maidenhead is one of the strongest residential markets outside London and the arrival of Crossrail in 2019, which will put Maidenhead within 41 minutes of Bond Street, will further increase its attractiveness as both a residential and a business location.
We have great ambitions for the Borough. The emerging Borough Local Plan, due for submission in 2017, envisages significant development in and around Maidenhead Town Centre, much of it on land owned by the Council. We are currently procuring a joint venture partner for four council-owned sites in the town centre with capacity for circa 1000 units, and in addition Maidenhead Golf Club (145 acres) is likely to be marketed in 2017.
Our vision is to build a borough for everyone. We are passionate about place-making, matching the expectations of our residents with high quality homes and places where people will aspire to live and work. We want to build on our proud history of creating special places with landmark buildings and attractive open spaces. We aim to create an environment that enhances modern day living for all, with pedestrian spaces, more trees and greenery.
As Senior Regeneration Manager you will be part of a dynamic and focused team with large and exciting workload. You will be responsible for some high profile projects, leading negotiations with developers and engaging with stakeholders as an ambassador for the Council.
Whilst you are likely to be a qualified chartered surveyor or town planner this is not essential, we believe it is experience and talent which leads to success.
You’ll be somebody with the experience and confidence to act as the authority’s ambassador in top level negotiations with major developers. This will be combined with the commercial acumen and judgement to ensure the interests of the council and our residents remain paramount.
We are keen to see applications from both the public and private sector. If you have the skill and empathy to work in a large organisation and with a range of stakeholders including elected members and residents then we want to hear from you.
Windsor and Maidenhead is an exceptional and enticing borough to live and work. As a council, we are successful, commercially minded and forward thinking. We are also lucky that in contrast to many our strong financial base means we have the capacity and the resources to make things happen.
In your role, we want you to feel supported, challenged and rewarded. You will benefit from our family friendly policies including flexible and agile working, generous leave entitlement, as well as access to the Local Government pension scheme and other staff benefits.
We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible and we just ask that you complete our online application form providing furtherinformation against just a couple of specific questions. You are also welcome to attach your CV to further support your application.
