YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER WHO HAS COMPLETED THE ASYE PROGRAMME TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE, WITH A PRACTICE BACKGROUND IN SAFEGUARDING.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a fast paced, new and developing Citywide service; and use your strong safeguarding and court skills, alongside your expertise in permanence.
You will deliver child focused Special Guardianship, Connected Persons and Private Fostering Assessments and support services, to Birmingham's children.
You will prepare relatives and friends who are willing to provide permanence to children. You will also be responsible for assessing adults who apply to become a Connected Person, Foster Carers or Special Guardian; by gathering information about a person’s suitability, providing court evidence and advising colleagues.
A qualified, HCPC registered social worker, you’ll bring to the role experience of working with vulnerable children and their families. Committed to working flexibly with others, you have collaborated effectively with other teams, statutory and voluntary agencies. You have a demonstrable understanding of key legislation, which equips you to analyse and intervene effectively in situations that are increasingly complex and challenging. Crucially, you have the ability to communicate clearly to all kinds of audiences, both in person and in writing and be competent in handling large numbers of calls each day.
