We are currently recruiting to three newly created Specialist Social Work posts that will help lead to our residents receiving an increased quality of service and better assessment of risk in relation to safeguarding children. As one of our highly Specialist Senior Social Workers you will take lead responsibility for working with parents with mental health concerns or drug and/or alcohol problems. As a key specialist you will have responsibility for building links with stakeholders and chair specialist surgeries for all staff to raise awareness of these two complex areas. Effectively managing a complex caseload your expertise will help provide a vital service to some of the Borough’s most vulnerable children/ young people.

About the person

With your demonstrable background in a Children and Families setting andyour specialist experience of either mental health or substance misuse you willbring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team at Hillingdon.

In addition to yourprofessional experience you will also be someone with a high level of emotionalintelligence and thetype of person who proactively takes accountability and looks for solutionsrather than problems. Your abilityto successfully build trusting and efficient working relationships inpartnership will other Social Services departments will be essential to yoursuccess in this challengingbut highly rewarding role
