Senior Waste Strategy Officer

This is an exciting time to join Leicestershire County Council’s Waste Management group. We are already one of the highest performing Counties in the country achieving recycling rates of over 48%, but we don’t want to stop there. We are committed to achieve 58% by 2017.

You will support the Team Leader in developing plans, policies and projects which improve performance and reduce reliance on landfill. To help achieve the ambitious targets in the Leicestershire Waste Management Strategy, you will undertake research, source funding opportunities and work with key stakeholders on a range of projects. You will also have responsibility for managing the administrative support function.

You will need to be an experienced professional in a relevant field with a good understanding of current waste related government policy, together with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will also need a high level of literacy and numeracy and some supervisory experience.
