Hertfordshire County Council YCH is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced JNC qualified youth worker to be part of a team responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of creative, innovative and focused curriculum based youth work programmes to develop young people’s personal and social skills.
You will induct, develop and performance manage a team of youth support workers and volunteers to deliver high quality youth work programmes with clear learning outcomes, to meet targets and demonstrate impact
In this role you will be responsible for a diverse range of youth work including leading on specific areas of practice. You will deliver a variety of projects including issue based work, fixed term programmes, youth councils/forums, National Citizen Service, residentials and regular weekly sessions in youth centres, community centres, schools, detached and other settings.
You will need to have the ability to forge positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, responding flexibly to the needs of young people and the Service. You must have good IT, organisation and communication skills to record data on a management information system, meet targets and deadlines, produce reports and correspond with young people, parents and partners.
You will need to be flexible in your working hours and be able to deliver face to face work 4 evenings a week including Fridays or Saturdays, at the weekends, during the week, school holidays and residentials. You need to be able to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.
