Required for September 2012 an exceptional teacher to lead 16-19 provision across SFH6. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge and experience of current curricula developments in post-16 education, combined with a creative approach to collaborative working. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher to contribute to further enhancing the achievement in two very successful schools, with a strong tradition of 6th form collaboration.

What we’re looking for

This is a post that offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for an ambitious teacher/leader looking to gain valuable experience prior to Deputy Headship.

SFH6 has a long and successful tradition of a combined Sixth Form between Forest Hill (boys) and Sydenham (girls) Schools. Students benefit from an exciting joint curriculum offer of post-16 courses, excellent enrichment and opportunities to learn on either site. Teachers will also, on occasions, teach across both schools.

Both Forest Hill and Sydenham are dynamic, good schools with a culture of continuous improvement and the highest of expectations. In recent years the strength and success of the collaboration has grown dramatically yet there is a shared commitment and desire to build upon and further enhance our current reputation. With our 2011 GCSE results A*-C incl English/Maths approaching and over 60%, the potential for sustained improvement at KS5 is evident. We are now looking to appoint an effective and enthusiastic teacher/leader to take us onto the next phase of academic and cultural development.
