As a Social Worker you will be working at the forefront of best practice.
The First Response Team (FRT) is the ‘front door’ of Cambridgeshire’s Children’s Social Care (CSC) and works within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The vision for FRT is to provide an effective, responsive service to those seeking assistance for vulnerable children and families and to ensure safeguarding needs are addressed effectively at the earliest stage of contact.
You will be responsible for providing first class social work for vulnerable children and families. You will be encouraged to develop your skills and you will be supported to enhance your own training and development.
Candidates should have good knowledge of childcare legislation, a proven ability to implement effective interventions with children and families and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A confident practitioner, you will be able to think and act creatively to achieve best outcomes for children and families.
You will be working closely with other highly skilled managers, social workers and professionals from other agencies, you will be supported and encouraged to apply theory and research in front-line practice, building on a strong track record of service delivery and innovation within the service, and where systemic practice and social learning theory is the main methodology.
You need to be, dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate; you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families. You will receive intensive support and guidance as needed to ensure good social work practice, ensuring the very best outcomes for children in Cambridgeshire.
Cambridgeshire’s recent overall Judgment from Ofsted was ‘Good’ and the report complimented the environment created, stating “Social workers report feeling safe, secure and valued in an environment where good social work practice can flourish.”
Candidates must hold a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) recognised social work qualification, be HCPC registered and have evidence of continuing professional development pursuant to a specialist level of knowledge.
Salaries will be paid according to skills and experience.
