Salary:SW Levels 1/2/3, £22,001 pa - £33,328 pa (with a bar at £31,439 subject to achieving Full PQ)

Social Care

We are looking for a Social Worker with child and family experience, preferably in the area of adoption or with a personal knowledge of adoption, and would like to use this opportunity to develop new skills. This post will focus on the preparation and assessment of adopters, family finding for children and making /supporting placements. The adoption team is part of an established family placement service that seeks to be responsive to user feedback

You should have good assessment skills, an interest in group work and training and knowledge about the needs of children who have left their birth families as a result of abuse or neglect. We are open to considering a newly qualified social worker who has a good grounding in the skills we are looking for.

You will need to be registered with GSCC, hold a professional Social Work qualification and have knowledge of adoption legislation. You should have a full driving license unless there are reasons linked to disability that mean that this is not possible. We welcome approaches from social workers with Asian language skills; work with Punjabi and Urdu speaking applicants is an important part of our work.
