Excellent opportunities for newly qualified and experienced children’s social workers.
North Somerset, situated just south of Bristol, is a highly desirable place to work and live. This diverse unitary authority has rural and coastal areas with thriving towns and villages, as well as excellent links to London, South Wales, Devon and Cornwall. Despite the affluence there are pockets of urban poverty and rural isolation which challenge the most creative social care professionals.

Due to a restructure, we are seeking to recruit a number of social work professionals to work throughout the district. Our new structure includes a dedicated referral and investigation team, as well as specialist multi professional teams working with children who are looked after, children in need and safeguarding teams.

We adopt a child centred approach and our social workers are professional, empowered practitioners who are provided with high levels of supervision in order to develop excellent plans for children, young people and families in North Somerset.

We would love to hear from newly qualified or experienced social workers (ideally having worked with children and young people) who wish to develop their professional practice in a stimulating setting.

In return we can offer you the opportunity to work within a challenging yet supportive environment with significant supervision and support. We have excellent links with other agencies and a strong focus on locality working.

We encourage professional and personal development, with post qualifying awards being attained by high numbers of staff. We also have a fast track progression scheme for qualifying social workers. In addition, we have a great relocation scheme, flexible working options, childcare vouchers, generous final salary pension and employee assistance programme.

If you’d like to work for a diverse authority that “consistently delivers good services” (Ofsted 2007), then why not contact us to find out what is available for you?

For an informal chat please call Richard Simpson on 01275 884 747.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
