Borough of Poole Children and Young People’s Social Care is now recruiting Level 1, Level 2 and Advanced Level 3 Social Workers

Poole is well known as a wonderful place to live and work. We have beautiful protected beaches, the Jurassic coastline and the New Forest National Park on our doorstep but also enjoy easy access to major motorway links, London and France.

We have successfully completed a significant reorganisation of Children’s Services with a focus on ensuring the ‘right help at the right time’, and continuity, stability and the best quality care for the children we work with. Partnership working across the Council and with other agencies is a particular strength in Poole. You will work alongside an established senior management team that is accessible, visible and supportive and with colleagues who are committed to best practice which improves children’s lives.

Due to career advancement both within and out of the area, along with our continued investment in children’s social work we are currently recruiting Social Workers across all grades, including a Specialist Social Worker – Domestic Abuse, to join a high performing and forward looking service.

We have strong links with Bournemouth University, and are able to offer post-qualifying formal CPD opportunities to staff who have completed their ASYE and looking to extended their specialist knowledge and skills, or who are experienced social workers who wish to extend their professional practice through Practice Education.

All Social work posts require a formal professional Social Work qualification and current HCPC registration. We are particularly keen to attract applicants who have reached progression to Level 2 or Advanced (Level 3) social worker in their professional careers. All newly qualified social workers will be required to complete the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
