Role Description:
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of two stable multi-disciplinary teams committed to working with disabled children and their families. Each team comprises social workers, family support workers, occupational therapists, a domiciliary care team and, in Guildford, a Team Around The Child project.
This is a good time to join either of Surrey’s two dedicated teams for children with disabilities. The Government is committed to resourcing services for disabled children and their carers through the Aiming High for Disabled Children program. In Surrey this will enable more varied support and intervention to become established and be provided in 2010-11.
We are looking for enthusiastic, qualified Social Workers with a broad knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding, and excellent assessment skills. You will have a commitment to using the full range of your social work skills to promote and safeguard the welfare and development of disabled children in accordance with the Every Child Matters outcomes. Proven experience of working with disabled children is desirable but not essential.

Salary £26,223 to £37,749
