Salary:SW Levels 2/3, £16,991 pa - £33,328 pa (with a bar at £31,439 subject to achieving Full PQ) Pro Rata for Part Time Posts 

Hours:3x37 hours per week – Long Term Fostering Team 1x18½ hours per week Family and Friends Team 

Working pattern:Full Time, Part Time, Permanent position 

Location:Based within the Adoption & Fostering Unit, Aire Building, Shipley

Can you offer:

  • A commitment to the support, supervision and training of foster carers
  • Good knowledge about the needs of children who become Looked After
  • A belief in the crucial position foster carers have in the lives of Looked After children
  • A commitment to maintaining the progress identified in the last Fostering Inspection.

You will need to:

  • Hold a professional social work qualification
  • Be registered with GSCC
  • Have progressed to level 2
  • Have knowledge of the adoption and fostering regulations and legislation.
  • Have a full driving licence unless there are reasons linked to disability that mean that this is not possible.

The Adoption and Fostering Service holds the Charter Mark Award and at the last Fostering Inspection in 2008 was judged to be “Good”; however we know there is still much to do and to provide the right support and training to the foster carers we need skilled and committed people who have experience of placing and supporting Looked After Children and Young People.
