Opportunities have arisen for experienced Social Workers to join the Children and Families Social Work service in Wiltshire. The vacancies are across the county including Referral and Assessment, Safeguarding, Children in Care and Family Support. We have office bases in Salisbury, Chippenham, Devizes and Trowbridge.

Although we are a huge county, you’ll never be just another Social Worker. We are structured into specialist teams with Social Workers being able to really focus on working directly with families to make a positive impact for children and young people. We are on an improvement journey and are investing in our staff to ensure manageable caseloads, good supervision, high levels of support and excellent development opportunities. The induction, training and accelerated learning are valued highly by experienced and qualified practitioners.

Responsible for completing assessments, planning, delivering and reviewing focused interventions, you’ll be fundamental to safeguarding vulnerable children and promoting positive outcomes. Your focus will be on providing support, advice and guidance to enable children and young people to remain with their families, where appropriate and feasible.

Successful candidates will hold a relevant Social Care qualification, HCPC Registration and must have post qualifying experience. You will bring an understanding of related agendas, practices and policies, as well as a thorough knowledge of all associated legislation.

Experienced in working directly with children, young people and families, you’ll have a good knowledge of the assessment process. The ability to remain organised, and maintain accurate plans, reports and records is essential. You’ll also be equipped with the ability to manage completing caseload demands and have a strong and genuine commitment to championing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.

You will be required to undertake driving as part of your duties. You will be required to produce your original driving licence as part of the selection process as well as agree to a live DVLA licence check
