In July 2012 Ealing Council reconfigured its services and introduced the Ealing Children’s Integrated Response Service and Locality Service to meet the needs of children and their families in the borough. The Ealing Children’s Integrated Response Service (Triage) is a single point of entry for all enquiries when concerns arise about the welfare of children in Ealing. We also expanded our five Children In Need Teams to six Locality Teams, who undertake assessment work and continued care planning for children subject to Child Protection/Child in Need plans.

We are currently looking for a number of experienced Social Workers to support the activities of the Locality teams across the Borough. We would welcome interest from candidates with significant practice experience as we will look to you to attend and present at Court in complex child protection cases, as well as lead on safeguarding investigations to ensure children are fully protected.

Our Social Workers work as part of highly committed teams in a demanding but stimulating environment where you will have the opportunity to fulfil your potential and benefit from a wide range of in-house training and development opportunities.

We are not looking for applications from newly qualified Social Workers at this time, but will be recruiting later in the year.

Ealing Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Ealing follows safer recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults.

The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.

Closing date: 30 May 2013.
