Acivico Ltd (a multi-disciplinary company wholly owned by Birmingham City Council) is seeking to expand its established and well respected legal service which provides a range of services to Birmingham City Council, other Local Authorities and a wide range of private sector clients.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Head of Legal and Company Secretary in providing legal advice and support on a diverse range of areas.
Services include including commercial contracts, governance, company commercial and corporate matters, procurement matters, business transfers, and alternative business structures and delivery models. The successful candidate will also be required to work, in tandem with the Head of Legal on high profile commercial, procurement and transactional matters.
You will also be required to provide legal support to and represent Acivico at external meetings. You must have a working knowledge of commercial law and company law and ideally local government and EU procurement law and have good drafting and negotiating experience. You should also have the ability to work in partnership with external organisations and Birmingham City Council departments.

Required qualifications and experience;
Applicants for the Solicitor position must hold a current Practising Certificate or be a lawyer with demonstrably equivalent skills, abilities and knowledge and several years’ PQE in private practice or local government is desirable but not essential.
